Shock / Strut Service

What is a Shock / Strut all about?
A strut is a vital component of a vehicle's suspension system that serves a dual purpose: it acts as a shock absorber and provides structural support for the vehicle. A strut is a structural unit that supports the vehicle’s weight, maintains wheel alignment, and holds the tire in position.

Keep in mind
Struts are best replaced in pairs.

Our recommendation:
Struts should generally be replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 miles, with 75,000 miles often cited as a benchmark for proactive maintenance. Key indicators for immediate replacement include excessive bouncing,, nose-diving while braking, fluid leakage, uneven tire wear, or severe instability during turning.

What common symptoms indicate you may need to replace the Struts?
  • Bouncy or rough ride.
  • Excessive nose-diving while braking.
  • Body roll when turning

How important is this service?
Replacing bad struts is highly important for safety and vehicle control, not just comfort. Worn struts increase braking distances, cause unstable handling, and lead to accelerated tire wear. Failing to replace them can cause excessive swaying, nose-diving when braking, and reduced tire traction on the road.

How it's done:
  • Technician arrives at your home for an inspection.
  • Remove and replace Struts.
  • Perform a safety inspection.
  • Perform test drive.
